The Much Awaited #Pakistani Movie "The Legend of Maula Jatt" held it's premiere night on Wednesday in #Lahore.
The world is scared of his shadow, but to the one he means the word, he is the light in the sky, the sparkle in the eyes, of the prettiest woman in the neighbourhood, who is always there to balm his bruises. The bruises are there for fighting evil, for vengeance, for slashing hoards in seconds, for crushing skulls with a punch, for choosing arms over weapons for the enemy is often not worthy.
What might seem like a page out of Rocky from KGF action drama is actually a scene out of Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt "TLoM" with a lot more devotion to sense than its South Asian parallels. While the overall choice of shots, some sequences and even editing are reminiscent more of Lashari’s love for anime, it is the strange ageing process that TLoMJ has gone through that it now stands, neck to neck, with Rajmoulie and Prashanth league of cinema, at least for the desi audiences.
Bilal Lashari's long-awaited star-studded magnum opus The Legend of Maula Jatt held its premiere night on Wednesday in Lahore and it is fair to say that it was as grand as the film is touted to be.
From Mahira Khan's sequinned co-ord set in a bright metallic pink to Fawad Khan twinning with his wife Sadaf Fawad Khan to Humaima Malick ditching her villainous look for an angelic white and Faris Shafi's sultry translucent fusion ensemble, each and every cast member came in their graceful real life avatars for they already outshone themselves in the magnum opus. Very “nervous” Mukkho Jattni walked the red carpet in a glittery Faraz Manan ensemble. With everyone dressed in subtle prints in monochrome colours, Mahira stood out, grabbing all attention towards her, in an all pink outfit — and it wasn’t just any pink. Clad in a shimmery metallic pink from head to toe, Mahira’s outfit consisted of a boat neck top paired with a mermaid skirt with a slit on its side. The cherry on top, quite literally, was a knitted jacket of the same colour worn on the shoulders. The Raees star posed in a pink pout with her hair up in a half pony, showing off her cute gold hoops.
Apart from the Jatts and their rivals, the premiere was attended by many big names in the industry, including the likes of Meesha Shafi, Kubra Khan, Shaan Shahid, Resham, Shafqat Cheema and Mikaal Zulfiqar, among others. Here’s a lowdown of who wore what to the premiere.
