French footballer Karim Benzema has been named the best Footballer of the Year 2022

French footballer Karim Benzema has been named the best Footballer of the Year 2022. He was awarded the 'Ballon d'Or' award on Monday in world football.

The 66th annual 'Ballon d'Or' awards ceremony was held at the Theatre de Chhetlett in Paris, France with the participation of many renowned footballers from around the world.

The 'Ballon d'Or' award race featured Poland's Robert Leon Dowski, Senegal's Sadio Mane and Belgium's Kevin de Bruyne

The award has been awarded to a French player for the first time since 2008. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have previously named the 'Ballon d'Or' to themselves.

Remember that French footballer Karim Benzema played an important role in winning Real Madrid the Champions League title.

Before Karim Benzema, the last time French footballer Zinedine Zidane named the best player of the year award to himself in 1998.
